Regardless of your age, gender, experience, body type, ability, or fitness level - Your Yoga Place is a place for every body. It's my intention to make Yoga classes accessible, comfortable, safe and available to you. Yoga has many benefits, some include:
Yoga can help manage anxiety and depression. Yoga classes include: poses (stretches), meditation and breathing exercises. Yoga is a healthy tool to help activate our happy hormones, our relaxation response, and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and restore). The benefits of Yoga are endless, although stress management would have to be one of the most common benefits.
Yoga builds body and mind awareness. Yoga has a variety of poses, and focuses on calming the mind and moving the body. Naturally the mind and body are connected, and Yoga is another tool to strengthen this connection. This can result in a positive boost to ones self-esteem.
Yoga develops strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga has a large focus on movements and stretches, which help strengthen the body, focus the mind, improve flexibility and build balance. By practicing Yoga, and overcoming challenges, yoga can give students a sense of achievement and confidence. A regular practice also builds stability and may reduce the chance of injury.
